In my representational work I paint scenes of every day life - people, places and activities. This year, while staying home because of Covid19, I painted to help me understand the unusual times we are living in and to memorialize my observations. My Pandemic Diaries series focuses on the ordinary activities of life that are impacted. Standing in line outside at the Department of Motor Vehicles at a distance in masks is an example of this in between world where we are just learning to smile with our eyes.
